Thailand is a country located in the center of centered Southeast Asia bordering the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Neighboring countries include Burma, Cambodia, Laos, and Malaysia. The geography consists of a mountain range in the west and a southern isthmus that joins the landmass with Malaysia. Thailand is known for tropical beaches, opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins, and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha. In Bangkok, the capital, an ultramodern cityscape rises next to quite can quite communities and the iconic temples of Wat Arun, Wat Pho, and the emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaew).
